Public Space - Street Art

1. Find a definition of “Street Art” and post it on your blog along with the hyperlink of where you found it.
Street art is any art developed in public spaces — that is, "in the streets" — though the term usually refers to unsanctioned art, as opposed to government sponsored initiatives. The term can include traditional graffiti artwork, stencil graffiti, sticker art, wheatpasting and street poster art, video projection, art intervention, guerrilla art, flash mobbing and street installations. Typically, the term street art or the more specific post-graffiti is used to distinguish contemporary public-space artwork from territorial graffiti, vandalism, and corporate art.

2. Find one news article about street art. Provide a brief summary of content, indicate what the media organization is and provide the link to the article.
Chris Brennan is a well known and connected photographer. Chris has put on a exhibit called No Art for 111 Minna. No Art is made out of a series of photographs Brennan has been collecting of buffed art work over the years., challenging the observer to look at buffering as an art itself;capturing a moment in time: The moment in time that the graffiti behind the current layer existed, and the now, in which the opaque paint takes over. Brennan believes that graffiti will never be legal, and he would not want it to be. If graffiti is legal, the essential beauty and skill of the art is taken away. The media organization is www.fatcap.com.

    Google Map - Earth
    http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

    Content
Google Earth is part of google's website that provides information about how to get from one place to another. It provides you with the information on which streets you should go to get to a certain place, and how long it will take when walking, busing, or driving. The purpose of google earth is to help people find there way somewhere or find where a specific a location is. Google Earth is also good for people who would want to consider buying a house, they could type in the address, and find out what the outside looks like and what the neighbourhood looks like.

Google map also has google satelite, google earth, and google traffic.

    Form
The form of the website is maps, photos of the street and other areas, text of information of a specific location, illustrations, and hyperlinks. The design techniques that are employed are colors, fonts, boxes, layouts, headers, headings and headers.

    Audience
The Audience of google map can basically be anyone who can use a computer.
Parents, children, teens, anyone any age can use google map. Kids can use it for example to find the nearest ice cream parlour. Parents can use it to find the nearest restaurant. I don't think many young kids are using google maps. I think the majority of people who are using maps are mostly pre-teens, teens and adults.

Analyze a type of media using media triangle.

    PRINT

    Media Text
This is a recent magazine cover of Elle Canada magazine.
Three things like it are Elle Magazine, People Magazine, and Flare Magazine.
You can find some information such as fashion in this magazine with other print resources like books, internet sites, and possibly the newspapes.
The colours that are on the cover are different shades of blue, purple, gold, brown, black and white.
The values that are promoted in this magazine are good fashion sense, creativity, health and originality.
This magazine provides fashion tips, stories, and advice.
This magazine does provide some stereotypes, such as putting clothes and people's styles in categories; such as "prep". But they are just describing the clothing styles, i'm sure it is not meant in a negative way.
I'm not sure if any values are left out, because this magazine publishes many stories, and other people can get their stories published so it seems like most values are in the magazine.

    Audience
I like this magazine because it gives alot of tips on fashion, and it shows you new cloths and styles that you wouldn't think of yourself. Also its just something to look though when you have nothing else to do.
My mom does not really read this magazine, but she doesn't mind it because it has interesting pictures and facts. My friends like this magazine because it is interesting to read and to know what is in style.
This magazine would not scare anybody, because there is nothing scary about this magazine.
The reason why I would buy this magazine is because it has interesting facts, and shows you some interesting clothes.
I personally think that anyone 14+ can read this magazine. I think the majority of people who read this magazine are teenage girls. I would not want to collect this magazine, but someone else might would maybe because of some of the stories or random facts.

    Production
This magazine is made by more than one person. This magazine needs someone to take the pictures, type out the articles, choose the clothes, print, etc. The magazine is approzimately $5.00 for one magazine, but you get a better deal if you subscribe for a subscription.
Elle Canada magazine was made in Canada.
Some places you can buy it are at a grocery store, wal mart, the mall, shoppers drug mart, gas stations, airports, and books stores; such as chapters.
You can tell where it was made because of the magazine title "Elle Canada".
I have not seen a commercial for it on t.v, book, game or newspaper.
But I have seen a commercial for it on a website.
Elle Canada owns the copyright for this text. I am not sure who is the main person who owns this magazine.
