McGreasy

1. What aspect of your culture jam do you find successful and why?
I find that the message I am trying to convey in my culture jam is successful, because it shows how McDonalds food is unhealthy and greasy, and how fast food is part of the cause of obesity. I showed this through my culture jam by changing the Mcdonalds logo to "McGreasy" and also by enlarging Ronald McDonald.

2. If you could do this project again, what changes would you make to improve it?
Some changes I would make to improve my project is possibly by adding a background of some sort. But overall, I like how I did my culture jam because it sends out the message well.

Public Space - Street Art

1. Find a definition of “Street Art” and post it on your blog along with the hyperlink of where you found it.
Street art is any art developed in public spaces — that is, "in the streets" — though the term usually refers to unsanctioned art, as opposed to government sponsored initiatives. The term can include traditional graffiti artwork, stencil graffiti, sticker art, wheatpasting and street poster art, video projection, art intervention, guerrilla art, flash mobbing and street installations. Typically, the term street art or the more specific post-graffiti is used to distinguish contemporary public-space artwork from territorial graffiti, vandalism, and corporate art.

2. Find one news article about street art. Provide a brief summary of content, indicate what the media organization is and provide the link to the article.
Chris Brennan is a well known and connected photographer. Chris has put on a exhibit called No Art for 111 Minna. No Art is made out of a series of photographs Brennan has been collecting of buffed art work over the years., challenging the observer to look at buffering as an art itself;capturing a moment in time: The moment in time that the graffiti behind the current layer existed, and the now, in which the opaque paint takes over. Brennan believes that graffiti will never be legal, and he would not want it to be. If graffiti is legal, the essential beauty and skill of the art is taken away. The media organization is www.fatcap.com.
